Since 2022, children ages 0-5 can receive free books each month delivered right to their door through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which was initiated by the Cedar Falls Community Foundation on behalf of the seven public libraries in Black Hawk County.

This program, however, is struggling and needs your support in order to continue. We are asking for donations to maintain this program.

The Board of Trustees is currently seeking candidates to fill a vacancy beginning July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for a six-year term. For this position, candidates must be legal citizens of the State of Iowa, be at least eighteen years of age, and reside within the city limits of La Porte City. The Waterloo Public Library is partnering with us and the other Black Hawk County public libraries to create a community photo display to celebrate the unique beauty and shared connections across the Cedar Valley.

You can participate by sharing photos. If you have physical photos, stop into the Library, and we'll help you digitize those photos. At the end of July, the photos with travel from Waterloo to us and the other libraries for display.
