MEET THE DEALT HAND
Meet the professional game masters from the Dealt Hand! Games come in all shapes and sizes to fit consoles, tabletops, and even yards. Games, especially new games, can be expensive and sometimes difficult to learn, especially for the first time.

The Dealt Hand helps by creating events designed to make it easy to play with friends, family, and strangers. The Dealt Hand has visited the La Porte City Public Library several times and is always a crowd pleaser. If you're new to games, are an expert gamer, or are just looking for something to do, we plan to host the Dealt Hand again, so visit our calendar for details or find the Dealt Hand wherever they're summoned!
DELIVERY SERVICE FOR ILLs
Beginning the week of August 4th, our interlibrary loan (ILL) service called IA Shares is moving to a new delivery model. The Library will receive one delivery per week, which will be fulfilled by Iowa's Area Education Agencies (AEA) van delivery service.

During the transition, deliveries from the current service will be sporadic, and we are losing access to RiverShare, which is the system used by academic libraries. While we can still request items from universities, deliveries will be made via USPS.

This cut, along with other cuts, is due to funding reduction at the State and Federal levels, specifically with cuts to IMLS.
