LIBRARY NEWS
RENOVATION FUNDRAISER
For the Renovation, the Library Director has created a list of needs for the building, with a specific emphasis on goods for patrons to use when the building reopens in February 2026.
The list can be accessed from Amazon by clicking the image above or scanning the QR code on flyers around town. The list offers a range of items in a range of prices and priorities, which are listed on the website.

Should you be interested in purchasing an item, simply click on the item in your Amazon account and have it shipped to the Library. For questions or for information about individual needs, please call 319-342-3025 or email info@lpcpubliclibrary.org.

LIBRARY MERCHANDISE
If you're looking for a way to support the library while looking sharp, now is your chance! We are selling customer t-shirts and embroidered hats created by RAYGUN, featuring our library logo, designed by Carolyn Herman.
You can also pick up a brand-new library card and fridge magnet with our current hours and contact information, which is perfect to keep a piece of the library in your home. While visiting the library, remember to grab our latest programming booklet and other essential handouts about our services and resources.
All proceeds directly support the Renovation Project and future capital improvement endeavors.

LIBBY & OVERDRIVE ISSUES
Through our contract with the State Library of Iowa, you receive access to over 100,000 titles from OverDrive, which can be accessed on your mobile device through the Libby App. This service is paid partially by the State Library of Iowa, grant funding from the federal Institute of Museum & Library Services, and your taxes for our Library.

Because OverDrive is provided through a contract with the State Library of Iowa, your Library team has very little control over the service and the app. While we can provide instruction and basic support, most issues are handled by our representatives. Since we share this service with hundreds of public libraries across Iowa, the average wait time for a hold can exceed 59 days.
