Bridges is the eBook and eAudiobook buying consortium for Iowa public libraries. The State Library of Iowa facilitates the program and manages the contract on behalf of the participating libraries, of which we are a member.
OverDrive, Inc. is an American digital distributor of eBooks, audiobooks, and magazine titles. The company provides secure management, digital rights management and download fulfillment services for publishers, libraries, schools, and retailers.

Please note, per our contract with the State Library of Iowa, our digital services are only available to residents living in the city limits of La Porte City and residents living in rural Black Hawk County. If you reside outside Black Hawk County, please visit the nearest public library to you for access to Bridges.

As a final option for all residents of Iowa, you can buy into Waterloo Public Library's digital library for $62.15 per year (prorated based on the month of registration). For details, please contact Waterloo Public Library Staff at 319-291-4480. This cost is accurate as of April 2025.
