Play is one of the ways we learn to relate to others, to think in new ways, and to foster friendships, new and old. Level Up at Your Library is an all-ages summer reading program based around puzzles and games. Whether you're playing with STEM concepts or gamifying reading logs, learning to play chess or how to code video games, Level Up at Your Library reminds us that libraries are not just a space for knowledge, they are a space for fun!
Presently and the past several years have been marked with a lot of bad news when it comes to libraries: the struggle to right the ship after a pandemic, book challenges and bans, threats to library boards and funding, and that regular request to do more with less. Despite the stress, Level Up at Your Library is a reminder that the things we find exciting about libraries are the spaces where learning gets to be joyful and fun, where lessons can be made into games, and where puzzles are just another question we can answer
Gaming is something that brings out so much passion in so many different people, and we're excited to highlight a huge range of resources from our local community and the larger community of libraries. In Libraryland, there are so many groups with similar goals ready to help us make the best experience possible for readers

Summer 2026: Plant A Seed, Read
The concept is farm to table. A farm grows food that nourishes our bodies; a library grows ideas that nourish our minds. Both food and stories connect us to our family, culture, economy, and ecology. We are encouraged to get our hands dirty as we dig into the roots of this theme.
Summer 2027: Reading Expands Our Universe
Science fiction encourages us to dram big, take risks, and imagine a future enhanced by human innovation. Libraries make contemporary technology accessible and provide access to stories that encourage patrons of all ages to explore a world greater than themselves. Together, we'll dream big, take risks, and shoot for the moon!
